Before the advent of Don Jazzy, and Kay Switch. Those years, Mavins had not been formed, let alone growing wings enough to soar high.
On the 8th of May, music exports in Africa has been paved with beautiful memories and is still being paved. These memories are best triggered by some of the solid body of works that have emanated from this wonderful musical label.
A decade after the fruition of the Mavins Record Label, they have been able to release two solid label Nigeria music landscape and Africa at large.
As Afrobeats continue to witness a global explosion, and an increasing contingent of Bayanni. Mavin Records continues to maintain a standard of how to build and rub a local industry leader with partnerships and collaborations across the world.
In celebration of ten years worth of achievements, success and massive growth, Mavin Records released its sophomore project album titled 'Chapter X.'
The album opened up with "ALLE" featuring seven of Mavin's artists. The first stanza was picked by Rema, it is melodious, and his tone sets the song in a bright mood. Followed by Ladipoe, who infused rap with singing and ed the flow to Bayanni. Crayon's part was memorable, and his identity crispy voice makes the tune interesting. Magixx put the tempo on a higher note, and what's a perfect tune without Ayra Starr? Albeit her voice was short, the sonorous voice is the main spice of the record. Masterfully and perfectly engineered and arranged. The theme is clear and doctored in the lyrics as the soothing confession of love. The chorus "Alle" with the crowd vocals makes it sound like a solemn thanksgiving with a few sexual references thrown in for pleasure.
The bouncy beat that started on "Over Loading" were the pre-released songs that geared the anticipation towards the album. The former was produced by Vibez and it's hard to deny the genius production he pulled in the song. It's a combination of rock guitars and rhythmic percussions that get you moving before any vocals come in; you just want to dance.
While the latter pre-released song, "Over Loading", is a massive hit afro-pop song. All of the artists on the song deliver exceptional performances and well-groomed lyrics.
"Losing You" feat. Johnny Drille, Magixx & Crayon started with Johnny Drille's sultry voice. It's a soft tempo beat production; Johnny Drille begs for reconciliation in a way that tells the story of their love life, Crayon's solemn input and Magixx soft verse are a perfect blend of an emotional tune. A solemn serenade of heartbreak and loss.

Every contributor on the record brought their best foot forward, carrying the record perfectly. It ended with every Mavin's artist's signature catchphrase and tagline's voice ed together as it all fell into the fray. Don Jazzy's voice stands out with his braggadocio line, "When You're big you're big, abeg"
As a pop dynasty that has existed for a decade, this album is the perfect project to celebrate the exploits and achievements made. It's diverse in performance, and it's thematically. This album is a compelling motivation for the next decade. A reminder of the past and the motivation for the future as the label is about to move into a new phase and also serves to commemorate Mavin's legendary decade run.
The production genius of producers from Andrevibez, Don Jazzy, Jvxn, Prestige & to seven cannot be denied. It's a stunning project. One of the most interesting parts of the project is the seamless chemistry of all the Mavins artists who worked on the project. It gives birth to a camaraderie amongst the artiste. Filled most with high-tempo songs, but the songs have excellent replay value that wants to make you listen repeatedly. Ultimately, all the featured artists brought their A-game while spicing things up for an irresistible jam and creating classics melody.
